Located in Northern Saskatchewan Candle Lake Provincial Park is an outdoor persons dream.
Every outdoor experience you could imagine is here. Hiking, fishing, cross country skiing, sledding, quadding and boating. The playground is limitless!
Duck Mountain is situated in the most southern limit of Saskatchewan’s boreal forest. The area has a unique geography- carved out by the last ice age and rising over 650 ft above the surrounding lowlands.
Here you will find a brilliant mix of flora and fauna, including rare carnivorous plants in the parks southern extremity.
Anglin Lake Recreation Site is a bustling area that offers a great trail system. Used for cross country skiing in the winter the trail system is easily navigable but takes you away from the town site.
Check out the Fire Tower hike for a view that overlooks the entire forest.
Only 5 minutes east of Prince Albert is the Little Red River Park, where there are 1200 acres of boreal forest to explore.
The park is a great place to spend a day hiking and having a picnic with it's many day use sites.
One of Saskatchewan's best hiking trails. A 5.5km loop around the Gem Lakes in Narrow Hills Provincial Park. Backcountry campsites available.
A must see in the province and one of SaskHiker's most favourite hikes.
One of Saskatchewan's best parks to visit. Home to Saskatchewan's longest developed trail at 130km the Boreal Trail is an experienced hiker's dream.
The park is dominated by lakes, rivers and beaches. Making this the perfect place to bring your boat and catch some fish, or to head out into the wilderness to see what you can find.
Prince Albert National Park is Saskatchewan's most visited and widly recognized parks. There are numerous hikes to partake in, most notably the Grey Owl Cabin hike - which is a 20km overnight excursion.

A remote backcountry location. The Clarence - Steepbank Lakes Wilderness Park has little in amenities but offers an unspoiled natural experience. This is a great place for backcountry exploring.
Depending on the season and weather the park can become inacessible.

Located 180km northwest of North Battleford is the small and charming Makwa Provincial Park.
A great weekend destination, there are 6 small hiking trails. The trails are groomed in the winter for cross country skiing.

An overnight back country hike in Prince Albert National Park. This 40km two day, one night trip takes you to the historic Grey Owl Cabin.
You will need back country gear to complete this hike.
An overnight back country hike in Lac La Ronge Provincial Park. This 30km two day, one night trip rests on the Canadian shield and is perfect for all skill levels
This hike will require backcountry geat if you want to spend the night but people have completed the 30km trail in one day.
